  There were 56 C.C.D. children who made their First Penance on Saturday February the 10th.  Msgr. Barry, the pastor, is talking to the children and their parents the importance of Confession and also he explains the story of the Good Shepherd to the children.

Some of our catechists are retiring after years of wonderful service. That means we are looking for good Catholics to take their place. We have sessions on Wednesday from 2:00pm to 3:30pm and Sundays from 8:30am to 10:00am with 10:00am Mass following. If you are hearing God’s call to be a Catechist please contact Theresa Heid at 718 3254-0865 or Msgr. Barry at the rectory.

 CCD NEWS 

Our 7th grade CCD students will be able to qualify for confirmation (which will be celebrated this fall) by the completion of this year’s curriculum on June 4th as well as three extended classes to cover 8th grade curriculum on June 11th, 18th, 25th and classes in the Fall on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm beginning September 14th. These classes will qualify the present CCD 7th grade for confirmation in the fall of 8th grade.

We are making plans to build a proper curriculum for 8th graders for the next school so that we won’t  have to split the curriculum by the summer months.

The confirmation class in our parochial  school covers the 8th grade curriculum through the regular school year.


MISSION STATEMENT

To instill in the children a deeper understanding and appreciation of our Catholic Faith through class instructions i.e., prayer, singing, videos, projects and guest speakers, etc., and a commitment to attend Mass on Sundays as well as going to confession regularly.

CCD families are invited to start the re-registration & new registration process. Advanced forms can be found on the Bulletins table in the vestibule. Please come to register in the Elementary School cafeteria for the early bird break on:

March 25th 5-7pm April 8th 5-7pm
March 26th 1-3pm April 9th 1-3pm

Note: Registration after these dates pay full price and a waiting list will be created once class size is full.
