Blue Army Prayer Group
The Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima is a public international association of Catholic faithful. A chapter meets in Saint Barnabas Church on Wednesdays at 1:00pm and following the 7:00pm Mass for the purpose of praying for the promotion of the authentic teaching of the Catholic Church and the personal sanctification of its members.
Chaplet of Divine Mercy
The Chaplet of Diving Mercy is based on the writings of St. Faustina. It is a formulary of prayer based on Catholic belief that God’s mercy is greater than our sins. The Saint Barnabas Chapter prays after the Tuesday evening 7:00pm Mass and after the 11:30am Sunday Mass.
Eucharistic Adoration is a devotion to and worship of Jesus Christ who is present in the Blessed Sacrament. It is more than gazing at the host displayed on a monstrance, but a continuation of what is celebrated on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Saint Barnabas conducts Adoration every Friday after the 9:00am Mass until 8:00pm Friday nights in the lower church.
Lectio Divina is the pious practice of the holy reading and praying over the Scriptures. It is practiced either in a group or privately. The method can be the reading of a section of scripture, understanding its message, praying to God to be inspired by its message and determining how to apply the message to everyday life. Saint Barnabas has several cells. Each cell meeting time will be listed in the bulletin when the schedule is ready for publication.
Miraculous Medal Novena
Miraculous Medal Novena is a private devotion inspired by Saint Catherine Laboure’s vision of the Blessed Mother who instructed Saint Catherine that the Mother of God wants to hear our intentions and needs and that she will aide us in our prayer. Saint Barnabas Parish prays this novena every Tuesday after the 9:00am and 7:00pm Mass.
The vocal recitation of the rosary is prayers several times a week at Saint Barnabas Church. It is prayed after the weekday 8:00am Mass and after the 12noon Mass on Saturday.
Rosary for Priests
Through the intercession of the Blessed Mother, patroness of priests , Saint Barnabas parishioners are invited every Thursday after the 7:00pm Mass to pray for priestly vocations, to pray for the priests of the parish and to pray for all priests and bishops throughout the world.
